Qatar were held to a 1-1 draw by Lebanon in a friendly international in Doha on Monday.

Bilal Najjarin put the visitors ahead in the 33rd minute with a wonder strike from over 30 yards. The 2012 Lebanese player of the year met a brilliant back-heel pass from Onika with powerful right foot shot that curved sharply leaving Qassim Burhan no chance to stop it.

Three minutes after the break Sebastian Soria benefited from poor defending to level the score with a far post header after a good cross from Youssef Moftah. The Lekhwiya striker scored the winner against Lebanon in two previous 1-0 victories for Qatar during the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Both sides failed to make it to Brazil.

It was Lebanon's first ever draw against Qatar who won all previous six meetings between the two sides. An impressive result for the "The Cedars" and their new coach, former Roma legend Giuseppe Giannini, who made a winning debut with the team few days ago as they defeated Syria 2-0 in another friendly

Al Ennabi will now take a break as the players return to their clubs for the start of the 2013-14 Qatar Stars League which kicks off on Friday. The team will host Vietnam in a friendly on October 9th, before facing Yemen in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers on October 13th in Doha.
